Chempa is absorbed mainly through the root system of weeds and gets translocated within the plant system. It inhibits Acetolactate Synthase (ALS), an enzyme essential for plant growth, thereby stopping cell division in the roots and shoots of weeds. This action inhibits shoot growth, retards root development, and ultimately kills the weeds.
