Fungicides(Ipflufenoquin 20% W/V SC (18.30% W/W))
Polin is a novel fungicide discovered and developed by NIPPON SODA. It introduces a new chemistry structure (phenylpropanol) in crop protection — a broad-spectrum fungicide that controls Blast, Scab, Powdery Mildew, Gray-mold, and more.
Polin, built on a novel phenylpropanol chemistry, is effective against multiple stages of fungal development because it inhibits Dihydroorotate Dehydrogenase (DHODH) — a key enzyme essential for biosynthesis of pyrimidine nucleotides required for fungal growth. By blocking this pathway, Polin disrupts both spore formation and mycelial growth. As a systemic and translaminar fungicide with an entirely new mode of action, it has no cross-resistance to existing fungicide classes, making it a valuable rotation partner for resistance management. Because it works by preventing further fungal development rather than repairing damaged tissue, it's most effective when applied early in the disease cycle.
| Crop | Disease | Dose (ml/acre) | Time of Application & Frequency |
|---|---|---|---|
| Transplanted Paddy | Leaf blast & Neck blast (Magnaporthe oryzae) | 100–120 | Tillering & Heading. One or two sprays at 10–15 days' interval may be applied, when the incidence of disease is observed, at the recommended dose. |
